As a congregation of the American Association of Lutheran Churches, we hold to the 1580 Book of Concord as a faithful exposition of the teachings in God’s Word. We do not hold to the Lutheran Confessions only insofar as they agree with Holy Scripture, but because they agree with Holy Scripture.

The book of Concord can be found online here.

The Trinity
We believe in the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is three in persons, but one in essence, each of the same substance, and each eternally existing. Christ is eternally begotten of the Father, and the Holy Spirit eternally proceeds from both the Father and the Son.

Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a holy life under the Law, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead for our justification, ascended into heaven, and will to return to this earth. He is fully God and fully man, with the natures neither being mixed, nor separated.

Salvation
We believe that salvation comes by grace alone, through faith alone. Through faith, the sinner receives the righteousness of Christ, and is saved. Good works are necessary for the life of faith, but do not contribute to salvation.

Scripture
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are God’s inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word. The Bible does not simply contain the Word of God, but is the Word of God. Holy Scripture is the only infallible source of Christian doctrine and practice.

Baptism
We believe that baptism is for the forgiveness of sins, and is the washing of regeneration. No group is to be excluded from the sacrament, including infants.

The Lord’s Supper

We believe that in the Lord’s Supper, we receive the actual body and blood of Christ under the forms of bread and wine. Christ’s body and blood is given for the forgiveness of sins.

The Last Things
We believe that when Jesus returns the earth will be renewed. The righteous will be raised to eternal life, and the unbelieving to eternal death.
